Rory’s Birthday Month

Friends, today begins Rory’s Birthday Month, and we are so excited to celebrate her! She is going to be 1 year old in a few days! My little baby is growing up beautifullly. We love her so much! Although I am sad that we won’t be able to celebrate her first birthday with a big party surrounded by family and friends, I am thankful for many things in this season of life. I am thankful for Rory’s health, her safety, the fact that she has a roof over her head, loving parents and siblings who care about her, and the Almighty’s protection over her always. There is so much I want to teach Rory and Lexy in life. I have so much to learn in life, but what little I do know, I want to share with them. These photos I am going to share with you are nearly 1 year old as well taken by my friend Jessica Green Photography. I’ve blogged more of them here if you’d like to browse through them.

Sweet Baby Rory,

You are my sunshine! Dad and I love you so very much. Your Big Big sissy and Big sissy are absolutely in love with you! You are surrounded by a family who would move the heavens to be at your side. God has blessed you with many blessings here on earth. He watches over you and protects you every minute of your precious life. Even when mama and daddy can’t be near you, He is there and cares for you through your loving teachers. He guides them to care for you in a way that’s unique just to you!

Rory, I want you to know that you are loved by so many people in this world, but that’s not what I want you to focus on. I want you to grow up to be the one who loves others  and do so unconditionally. You’ve been blessed with so much. Give some of it to the world and watch it return to you ten folds! Bless other with the blessings given to you. Share your meal with others, be that shoulder for a friend and be honest and true to yourself. Love your family and friends. Never take from others-their time, their resources, their trust. Give from the bottom of your heart. You can’t compare that feeling to anything in the world! finally

Finally, Rory, listen to me and listen well: You are e.n.o.u.g.h. You do not need anything or anyone in the world to complete you. You are born complete, worthy and loveable. That’s the biggest lesson I could ever impart to you and your sister! Do not look to the world to love you. You are loved by the Almighty, and that is enough.

Rory boo, mama and daddy love you! I can’t wait to celebrate your BIG birthday this year!
