Dear bride,
Have you and your fiance every thought about a First Look on your wedding day? Have you attended or been part of a wedding where a couple opted for a First Look? How did that couple like their experience?
Today I am here to share with you from a photographer’s perspective why a First Look might be just the thing for you on your wedding day. So here are three powerful reasons why you should consider a First Look:
An intimate moment with just the two of you
Your wedding is filled with intimate details of what makes you two unique. However, the presence of a lot of family and friends during the couple’s portrait time may take away from the intimate moments you want to share with your love. An intimate and private First Look offers you the opportunity to see each other for the first time away from all eyes. It allows you two to be truly present in the moment and remember the moments you see each other for the first time. My unobtrusive camera will be the only thing peering from a corner to capture your sweet First Look. This will make for amazing photographs that you are sure to remember for years to come.
Save time on photographs
With your couple’s portraits out of the way, we can save a lot of time on photographs especially if you bridal party is ready at the same time that you are finished getting ready. Once the First Look has been captured (and, more importantly, experienced by the two of you), the bridal party can be photographed immediately afterward. This group can include your bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, ring bearers, and parents and grandparents if they are ready and nearby. The amount of time you’ll save is incredible should you choose to go with a First Look.
Enjoy your cocktail hour
With couple’s and bridal party photographs out of the way, you are free to actually enjoy the cocktail hour! What a crazy thought!!! You’ve put so much love into selecting the perfect kinds of foods and drinks to be served at your wedding, why not actually stop and enjoy some of it! After the ceremony, you don’t have to rush to get photos done. You can take a few minutes to get photographs with any guests you wish to be photographed with and then you are free to enjoy your cocktail hour with your bridal party before you are introduced by the DJ.
So, brides and grooms, I ask you this seriously, don’t you want to have a First Look now that I’ve given you three incredible reasons to do so! 🙂 In all seriousness, it is sure to alleviate a lot of pressure on your wedding day. Give it a serious thought. Ask other couples and get their perspective and then decide to do what your heart truly wants to do. I’ll be there to photograph the magic that is your union as husband and wife regardless!
I hope you enjoy these First Look images from Diana and Justin’s Wedding in Charlotte, North Caroline. Their love is truly radiant!
