It was midnight exactly one year from today when I found out that we were going to have little Lexy: My sweetest surprise.

I panicked, was excited and started crying! Oh so many emotions… I remember them well! It was midnight and I was tired, but all of a sudden sleep was no where near my mind!

The first person I called was my mother-in-law. She said… well, I won’t share what her first words were, but she was beyond excited to hear the good news! Nick was out of town at the moment and I kept walking around the bedroom thinking of anyone who would be awake at that hour. The rush of energy didn’t allow me to sleep until close to 3:00 am. It was a wonderful night, and I will never forget it. I got the biggest and the best new of my life that night at midnight.

Oh what a night it was! Little did I know that in a little over nine months, a little angel would walk into my life and change everything. For the best. There is no explaining how I feel when I look at her. I miss her when she is asleep in her bed. I want to hold her and touch her very spirit. This photograph captures her perfectly! (Thank you, Stephanie Tignor Photography.) I want her to stay the little baby that she is. So innocent. So beautiful! But at the same time, I can’t wait for her to begin talking and sharing all that is in her precious little heart.

Life is filled with so many good and not-so-good moments, and then there are those moments that will never be replaced. Every single second with her is like that. I am so in love, so blessed, so thankful for my sweet surprise.
